What you can actually do with these

Under the Pixbee licence: use them in client work, in commercial projects, on websites and in marketing, in monetised video and social content, edited or unedited, without crediting us. What you cannot do is re-upload them as a competing stock library or sell the files themselves.

That is a deliberately short list of restrictions. The full terms are on the licence page and are written in plain language rather than legalese.

The check to make before commercial use

Our licence covers our distribution of the image. It cannot grant two things that sit inside some photographs: recognisable people, who carry personality rights that vary by country, and trademarks — a logo on a laptop, a labelled product, a branded storefront. For editorial and internal use neither is usually an issue. For advertising, check the frame first.

Formats and sizes

Every file is served as the original upload rather than a re-encoded derivative, so what you download is what was contributed. Resolution, file size and format are listed on each page before you commit — useful when you are choosing between a 12 MB original and something that needs to load fast on a web page.

Do not put the original on a web page

A practical point that catches people out. The files here are the originals as contributed, which for a high-resolution photograph can be several megabytes — correct for print or a design file, and far too large to drop straight into a web page. Serving a 6 MB hero image is one of the most common causes of a slow site, and it will show up in your own Core Web Vitals. Resize to the dimensions the page actually displays and export as WebP or a compressed JPEG before uploading. Every page here lists file size next to resolution so you can judge before downloading which version of that job you are taking on.

If you need a larger version

Where an image is smaller than you need for print or a large display, our free AI upscaler will take it to 4K or 8K without a watermark or an account. It handles photographic detail considerably better than a generic sharpen pass.

Frequently asked questions

Are these stock images really free for commercial use?

Yes. Free for personal and commercial use, no attribution required, no account needed. The one restriction is that you cannot re-upload them as a competing stock library or sell the files themselves. Full terms are on the licence page.

Do I need a model release for photos with people in them?

Our licence covers the image file, not the personality rights of anyone recognisable in it, and those vary by country. For editorial or internal use this is rarely an issue; for advertising, you should clear it.

Can I edit or crop these images?

Yes — edit, crop, recolour and combine them with other work freely. There is no requirement to keep them unaltered and no requirement to credit us.
